Grass roots organized in 2007, Show Me Solar is a non-profit public benefit organization incorporated and based in the state of Missouri. We are board operated and member supported. Our mission is to educate the general public about the benefits of solar living and to advocate for the increased use of solar energy in the United States. To that end we host free and low cost presentations, workshops, classes, and seminars and participate in fairs, festivals and events related to renewable energy throughout the nation and it's territories. Show Me Solar organizes installations of solar systems for demonstration and training purposes – events referred to as Energy Raisers. Show Me Solar also partners with the American Solar Energy Society to sponsor annual tours of solar systems as part of the ASES national solar tour event.
Learn about the latest developments in the solar energy industry, find the information you need to go solar and make the contacts you need to be part of the solar energy revolution. Attend a meeting or workshop online or in person, join our email list, become a member and help support our mission through donations and by volunteering your time at an upcoming event. We provide for-profit entities with access to our membership through sponsorship channels and non-profits with overlapping missions are also welcome to contact us to establish partnerships.

Jeffrey Owens - Executive Director - jowens@showmesolar.org
Jeff currently spends his time between sunny San Juan, Puerto Rico with his wife's family and his family's home in central
Missouri. Trained as a mathematical physicist, a 9/11 veteran and former IT professional, Jeff founded Show Me Solar in 2007 and currently serves the organization as executive director and secretary.
Kevin Allemann - Director for Training Installations (Energy Raisers) - kallemann@showmesolar.org
A resident of central Missouri (Harrisburg) and computer programmer, Kevin has over 60 hours of continuing education in solar energy training from the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) and the Evergreen Institute (TEI). Kevin was a charter member of the board and currently serves the organization as director for Energy Raiser events and to date has assisted in the design and installation of 4 solar systems.
Mollie Freebairn - Director for Event Planning - mfreebairn@showmesolar.org
A resident of the Missouri state capitol, Jefferson City, Mollie is a pollution chemist with the Missouri Department of Natural resources. She also served as a charter member of the board and has participated in Show Me Solar events from the start. She looks forward to going solar at her home in Jefferson City in the near future.
Dr. Gavin Perry - Director for St. Louis Metro - gavin@showmesolar.org
Gavin has been active in the environmental movement since the first
Earth Day in 1970. He received a PhD in Neuroscience from Washington
University in 1980. He spent the next 29 years at WU writing software
and designing and building electronic devices for research and medical
applications. Having retired from WU in 2009, he is currently
developing applications and educational materials for a sustainable
energy future and looking forward to serving his first term on the board.
Jim Jordan - Director for Educational Outreach - jimjordan@showmesolar.org
Jim Jordan, curator of education at the Saint Louis Zoo, designed his 6 year old home with sustainability and universal access as the primary goals. Gardening and landscaping are also important and two bee hives provide pollination services to the neighborhood. Jim is a system's thinker both in design and lifestyle. His resource consumption is extremely low for an urban dweller. Solar photovoltaics were installed in June, 2010 to generate the equivalent amount of electricity consumed in a year. Jim also looks forward to serving his first term on the board of directors.
