Description: Join Show Me Solar on Saturday October 8 for an educational and fun filled day as we visit 5 homes with solar systems. This is a chance to learn from both the homeowners and installers the What, How, and Why's around installing a solar photovoltaic system in both historic, old and new homes. You will travel by 12 passenger vans to visit 4 homes in St. Louis City, Clayton, and Creve Cour, with a quick stop to view Ameren's Solar Project at their headquarters (www.ameren.com/solar/). We will end up at solar home number 5, Jim Jordan's home in Maplewood, for a solar cookout potluck (feel free to bring a side dish to share). While there you will be able to learn more about Show Me Solar and the sustainability principles used in the design and construction of Jim's home, including solar PV. We will explore Ameren's solar website and education center which includes 4 different PV systems. Rumor has it that a honey tasting will finish out the event. Registration fee includes one Raffle Ticket for a Global SunOven (valued at $300, additional chances available with all proceeds in support of Show Me Solar events), transportation during the tour, expert facilitated discussion and program, ASES solar tour guide leaflet, and solar cooked food after the tour. Participants may bring their own brown bag lunch or pay an additional $10 for a box lunch prepared by Chef Gregory Owens of L'Ecole Culinary Institute. Please indicate choice of Grilled Portabella & spinach wrap (vegetarian), Adobo Chicken and Roasted pepper Wrap, orTurkey Club Sandwich when registering.
